My dad was a man’s man, he is my religious hero … when I was a little boy he told me that; son, your private philosophy will always affect your public performance. I grew up remembering that even when I did not fully understand what he meant at the time. Religion is philosophical in every sense and we all have one, even atheists do, they just want to create a perception that they are all about existentialism and nothing more.
Like politics, religion rules and so around here we will encourage those of the different faiths to talk about their religions but we will espouse the only true God, the creator of heaven and earth. We believe that this could be a medium of gospel dissemination and if our philosophy is about the true God then all of us as the Apostle Paul wrote to the Romans in chapter 1 and verse 16, “…For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” - KJV. I believe we shouldn’t be ashamed either.
In the only nation on the face of the world to have been declared as a “Christian Nation”, the Zambian smarts should not only walk the walk but talk the talk. Intellectual honesty as well as anarchy will be encouraged and pundits to this forum are encouraged to share not only their novelty but also their belief systems and why they believe what they do … thanks a trillion.

At first I was not sure whether declaring Zambia a ‘Christian’ nation meant anything, but after reading some postings on ZOL I became convinced that it has a lot of impact. Being too liberal, like South Africa has become (following the US model very closely),has more disadvantages than advantages. It encourages people corrupt and evil side to begin competing with that which is morally good. I mean, how in the world can you explain homosexuality, abortion-on-demand, stem cell harvesting from real live foetuses and all these other crazy things happening in the West? Me thinks God has abandoned these places and He is simply preparing them for destruction like Sodom and Gomorrha.
Zambia should keep her status as a Christian nation even though we know that the West will try to attach their immorality to humanitarian aid. I would rather die of poverty than be turned into a condemned sinner ready to be burned in Hell fire!
I know some of you might not agree with me, but this is my opinion.

Angel,
… every human spirit knows what is right and wrong, a rebellious heart acts in contrast to real morals while a righteous one seeks morality. A rebellious hearts seeks to carry with it others of like mind while a righteous one seeks to share purity. The more righteous a people, the lighter the burdens of life.
Atheism is a religion. It is a religion – I came to find out when I once studied existentialism but they don’t call it that because they fear relativisms. It is the only religion where its followers worship SELF and the celebrations of the same. So in a nutshell we all have some one we worship.
Every civilization rises and falls on religion; so if your religion is wrong and wacky your foundation is too. Zambia is blessed to have been declared a Christian Nation despite surrounding controversies and through who; Angel you are not alone in your perceptions … thanks a trillion.

For the declaration of Zambia as Christin nation was not a coincidence but a confession.
A simple under standing of Daniel’s revealtion of Nebuchardinezars dream tells it all.
Dan 2:44-45
44 “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever.
NASU
The earth and the heavens are the Lord’s .Who else’s claim can any one belive?
ooooo hhhh remain blessed youre oh God.
No wonder they that saw you ride on a donkey said : Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

I will borrow the words of Gandhi, “I like the man Jesus, but I don’t like Christians.”
Now, before you hand me down a death penalty and slum your mallet on that mantle, let me tell you why the equation does not add up.
I have yet to find a person in the whole republic wh would honestly says that he or she is a true Christian, with a straight face. Most of them that claim to be followiers of Christ do even pray before they steal from the government or worse still destroy other people’s lives.
What is the purpose of the declaration if it only going to be on paper and not a part of our daily lives?
Each time I think of how ridiculous it is for one to call oneself something while their actions contradict their words, it reminds of James Chamberlin’s reggae tune entitled “Hypocrites.” Yes, decaration of Zambia as a Christian nation has made no nation any better but put a seal of hypocricy on our countenance.
Everytime law makers meet, their debates open with benediction, asking the creator to guide them on. As soon as they open their eyes, the request to be guided by the great spirit is forgotten about. What takes over are sinister intentions and alwys end them in positions opposite the law - they cheat, they lie, they steal!
It does not end there. Men and women of the cloth have the same bad habbits.
Instead of using Christian principles to complement our cultural values, we have traded them with the hypocricy that underlie the culture of those who brought the word to us. We now use the Christian banner as a coat which we wear on a chilly Sunday and take it off immediately our stomach registers empty.
I am not claiming to be righteous myself and don’t give that whitewashed response that we are human and so…just honor up, be true to yourself and quitting deceiving people that we are who we are when we know it is just a facade.
We are dying like flies, in and out of time, because we have thrown our culture to the curb and planted in its place everything the ten commandments say we MUST NOT DO in the name of modern evangelism.
I think we piss off the creator more than we please him. Could it be the reason why we are experiencing high rates of unemployments, homelessness, disease, hunger, poverty, crime, unkind to each other and all other kinds of distasteful things?
[I] I think we ought to rethink the declaration. As long as the systems are rotten, which really is the reflection of the output of our minds we are calling misfortunes upon ourselves.

Ba Pimbi,
… welcome aboard, the issues raised thus far are extremely important and I will find an opportune time to properly excogitate … thanks a trillion
January 20, 2008 at 8:13 pm
Good Afternoon fellow Zambians,
I was reading a comment by ba Pimbi, I do not blame ba Pimbi with his feelings. It is natural to feel that way. We all feel that way, but at the same time we need to look deep into the problem and find solutions.
Generally I can say, it comes down to the point of Christianity and politics do not work together.
When politics are combined with Christianity, there is always a conflict at some point.
The best advice is stay close to your God as an individual, because it’s not a country, a church or a government that will make you inherit a kingdom of God.
In every country there is good and bad. It depends what path you choose. And the truth will set you free. The bible says in Mathews 24:14. You will tell the end of the world, when you see everything you are witnessing now. As a Christian, I do not even worst time thinking about why things are the way they are now. It is all written in the bible.
I did not understand everything about religion, until I took world religions, as a course.
If you go deep in it, you find that all what you hear and see is politics.
Each religious group mentions God in their own way. That tells us that God exist, except people worship him in so many different ways. What you do not want to do as a Christian is to be judgmental. Give way to God to judge us.
I can understand, ba Pimbi’s disappointment, sometimes as a Christian we all feel that way. But when you look at the big picture, of how politics works, you can separate fiction to facts. As a Christian, believe what you believe in, God will reward you one day. There is more wickedness in the western world than in our countries, the question is why are they blessed and do not die like us. It is not something you see on the streets every day.
Why are we dying in Zambia? Don’t you think our life style is killing us? Let us educate ourselves. Let us find one common solution. Why so much poverty, diseases, and what ever we can think of. This is because of our life style in Zambia. We do not talk openly about certain things. We have created so many taboos, in our culture. Our kids are not free to talk openly about obvious things in life.
Contrary, the western life style is so different. There is so much openness on everything. I think once we break some of our individual cover-ups, we will begin to solve certain issues. We have done that to ourselves.
If you want Zambia, to survive as a Christian nation, lets us not be angry at each other, let us go to the real root of a problem then we can rescue our nation. Yes politics can be annoying sometimes, few of us who have opportunity to the open world, we have learnt, a lot that we just want to puke.
It is high time we bring back our education, and start educating our fellow Zambians about the reality of the world. We have limited education in Zambia. All we know is we are a Christian nation, and when we read the bible, that is all we need to save our country. There is more than just reading a bible. Stand up as a Zambian citizen to make a change in the society.
As for Zambia, to declare itself as a Christian nation, I can say on the political point of view, it works well for Zambia. As for morals, forget it. I have seen certain websites that has exposed our Zambian youth that I think as a Christian nation should interven.Sadly it is burning like fire that can not be stopped in Zambia. That is why parents should take interest in educating themselves with technology and to what extent should we expose our kids to media. We tend to be so closed minded sometimes, that by the time we realize we are sinking, with deseases, is when we have all have buried our lovely ones. This is not the time to be pointing figures as who he doing what. This is a fight for all us, us Christians, Zambian, citizens, to combat what has devasted our good country Zambia.
If you are a Christian, do not stop praying, because of politics. Continue praying for our nation, and stand up to make a change. Do not just sit at home and complain. Do something. Think until we find a solution. Zambia is a democratic country. But you have to understand that we are on the receiving hand.
Yes we have very cheap pattern of politics, it is same people that keep recycling. The same people who were in Kaunda error, are still leading the nation, the same people in MMD, are just going in circles. Sadly it looks like there will be no future presidents, due to AIDS.
You know what, I do not blame the government, because they are elected by the people of Zambia and they are the only courageous people in the country that stand up to lead their country. Only they all get caught up in corruption.
Most of us just complain and do nothing about it. You may complain about those policies. But if you do not stand up to make a change, Zambia will go on and on, the same route it is going.
Westerns are developed because when it comes to protecting their own land and making change, they all contribute to change. Christians and none Christians come together, to find a common ground.
I just stopped one predator from writing to my daughter who innocently put her profile on face book and myspace, one of the world internet service used by school kids, to interact with the world. As a parent, though residing in USA, I have opened my eyes to see what message my kids are getting from the world. I monitor every website they go to. Sadly, a lot of bad websites have already invaded Zambia.
If you want to save Zambia as a nation, we all need to work together, to educate our youth, about reality of the world.
Zambia has no capacity to monitor the kind of websites that introduces things that conflict with the belief of our nation as a Christian nation. My fellow Zambians, do you expect the president to go door to door to see who is doing what. If you were made president today, would you do that?
In all fairness it comes down to every Zambian citizen, to bring the Christian morality in your country. Do not expect that the minister or the president will do all this. It is a responsibility of every Zambian to keep Zambian name as a Christian nation, through our deeds as Zambian citizens.
Most Zambians parents are not computer literates, nor do they have access to computers in their homes to monitor such activities. Media has invaded Zambia, and sadly Zambia is taking more of the bad stuff, hence our youth have gone their way, with no guidance. Hence homosexuality invading a Christian nation likes Zambia. The truth is understood politics, and history of Zambia then you will know why Zambia has been declared a Christian nation.
The poor has no eyes of what is hidden on their plate.
Every country has its own culture and values. America has every religion you can think of on this earth, it is a melting pot. Zambia is a small melting pot of African countries. Most Zambians are immigrants from all parts of Africa, and that is why it is hard to keep our values, because it is a country of immigrants on a small scale. Unlike America, which is a country of immigrants from the entire world? The fact is you find a lot of craziness in a country that has unnumbered type of different cultures. People migrated with their own religions, name it, all is found in America. How about rate of AIDS compared to Zambia, very minimal. You know why? Education. People do not take life for granted. Use of condoms, and all prevention measures they can think of. Zambians, no matter how doctors preach about use of condoms, the answer is I would rather have no sex than wear a condom. Some answers are it is like watching the movie. 2. You have allowed hidden polygamy. West Africans marry four women in the open. They do not hide. Zambians, 1 wife and five girl friends, with no unprotected sex. That is why AIDS Has invaded us. Well now with the media exposure; check the websites that are flashing Zambia. Do you blame the government? No blame ourselves. We are doing this to ourselves.
It depends on an individual person, to choose right and wrong. The sad thing is poverty makes us to pick anything that is presented to us.
In America, there is bad and good. There are Christians that do not support certain things, and there are groups that support it. So it just depends how you view politics and your stand with God. The only difference with America is there is so much diversity as compared to Zambia. Zambia’s most settlers are from Africa.Surfice to say, America is made up of the world. It is a melting pot. And that is where the all craziness begins.
I think for now, let’s find a way to combat AIDS in our so called Christian nation.
You should be proud that we are known as Christian nation in the world. Count how many refugee camps are in Zambia. Zambia is used as a base, because it is peaceful, It Has become a diseased country, due to Zambians, open hearts to the world as a Christian nation. So cry for help to combat AIDS that originated from the outside world. Present yourselves in positive way as a Christian nation that has opened doors to every one, and now are paying a price, because of lack of education.
Let’s remain Christians, do not stumble. It is a good thing, trust me.

Greetings! Hust had a quick look at your blog. We live in a small global vision and I was able to read my dear brother Pimbilimano’s comment and I have told him that I am a true Christian. Him and I do agree on a lot of issues like development or wealth creation and I have great respect of him.
Keep the Faith and never compromise your stand for the Lord or for the Bible (1 Timothy 4:1ff; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
I will visit again whever am able to do so. Blessings.

Sorry, I wanted to say, ‘We live in a small global village’ and not global vision.

Ba Visionary,
… we too respect Ba Pimbi a lot here, but we have theological differences when it comes to agnostics and apologetics.
You’re welcome any time and thanks a trillion for visiting.

Warning using BibleGateway.com: BibleGateway is ‘not’ rendering the ‘authorized’ King James accurately. I have used BibleGateway.com for a long time, I have even contributed to them (no more). Recently, I pointed out to their support staff some errors in their “King James Version”. John chapter 20: all “Lord” (as translated in original KJV) is rendered “LORD” on BibleGateway. Their reply was “the translators adopted the device used in most English versions of rendering that name “, indicating they (BibleGateway) are rendering a ‘modified’ version of the King James, one where the translators (?) used a modern ‘device’ to translate “LORD”, whereas the original translators (1611) translated “Lord”. I then suggested they should change the name from “King James” to “Modern King James” so their readers would know it had been updated (’fiddled’ with). They politely ignored my suggestion and closed the support call. I only investigated John chapter 20, but I am concerned that the entire “King James” (BibleGateway’s version) is subject.
