President Rupiah Banda has urged the national team to focus on next weekend’s 2010 Africa Cup qualifier against Rwanda in Kigali.

The President said in a statement released in Lusaka on Tuesday that the team should now forget about the COSAFA Senior Challenge held in Zimbabwe and focus on the game against Rwanda.

He also congratulated the Chipolopolo on reaching the finals of the annual regional tournament.

President Banda said he was happy with the way the team played in Zimbabwe.

He said he watched the game on television and was impressed with the team’s performance.

The President pledged to continue supporting the national team.

Zambia lost 1-3 to Zimbabwe in the COSAFA finals at Rufaro Stadium in Harare on Sunday.
