… I personally think Andy would not have had the same notion at all regardless of the last election results. It is very much easy to get inebriated with a loss and look at the resulting premise as a cause for one’s demise. In this case, UPND’s better choice would be to stick with UDA, work to build their capacity from within and make the whole machinery functional for the next rodeo in town.
There are several reasons why a pull out now would end up showing great travesties for UPND and the scope of this forum may not be able to accommodate them all but a few need to be looked at as follows …
UPND would be seen as a party that wanted to ride the backs of others for its accession to power and once the objective could not be met they aborted the mission in quest for alternative avenues.
As a matter of principle the last rodeo can’t be used as a prime facie auditory knowing that UDA lost a leader and only had less than 90 days to field an alternative; which by the way they managed both with class and style despite the eventual split of UPND.
UPND last loss of their power grip mostly on parliamentary fronts was not as a result of their membership in UDA, it was because of unmanageable in-house fighting that led to the formation of ULP. So UPND better look at internal synergies that initially kept the party intact than those external synopses derivative of strategic partnerships in this case UDA.
Should UPND act just because Mutinta said so, then the leadership of the party would be questionable. The general populace would be intrigued as to how much power she has within their strictures and to whose benefit; party interests, national interests or just personal politics …
As earlier mentioned, the above are just a few of my personal observations that would make the pull out bad business on the part of UPND leading to others smelling bad blood … thanks a trillion

I think you raised very valid points. The only question is whether UPND will think of it the same way
